Last Day On Earth
04:29
|

All through the night
They hang in the sky
No movement yet
And I wonder why
Are they waiting, planning, scheming?
Am I seeing, believing, dreaming?
Last day on Earth
Last day on Earth
No-one feels safe
No-one goes out
I'm not afraid
To leave my house
Are they waiting, planning, scheming?
Am I seeing, believing, dreaming?
Last day on Earth
Last day on Earth
What do they want?
Where are they from?
When will they strike?
Will we be done?
Are they waiting, planning, scheming?
Am I seeing, believing, dreaming?
Last day on Earth
Last day on Earth

Take Me Along
05:36
|
|||
When I was just a young boy
I used to walk my dog
I'd look up at the starry sky
And wonder if I saw
A bright light in the heavens
Slipping across the night
When I was in my teen years
My mind was deep in space
I knew there must be others
From some galactic place
My gaze fixed on the night sky
Looking for a sign
Take me along
Across the universe...
I want to hear your song
Music to my ears...
I want to know I belong
Cuz I don't feel I do...
And now I'm in my last years
And time is running out
You're sitting in the sky above
And I feel so left out
I spent my whole life waiting
Waiting for you to come
Take me along
Across the universe...
I want to hear your song
Music to my ears...
I want to know I belong
Cuz I don't feel I do...
Take me along
Across the universe...
I want to hear your song
Music to my ears...
I want to know I belong
Cuz I don't feel I do...

Keep Our Eyes Open
05:08
|
|||
To the untrained eye it would seem to appear
That their very existence would be obviously clear
As they haven't shown malice in any regard
They're revealing themselves in our own backyard
To the untrained eye it would seem to suggest
Their intentions are good and it's all for the best
As they haven't fired lasers or heat rays and such
We should be quite secure and go on pretty much
But I pose this question and it must be asked
Why come to our planet if there is no task
Why hang in the sky being silent for weeks
If there is no plot to destroy what they seek
Can anyone say with conviction and might
That all they intend is to better our lives
Who knows at this moment if something's amiss
They could slowly be frying us all to a crisp
As time passes by with no obvious threats
We're becoming complacent and we mustn't forget
That these objects or things could be killing us off
It could start with an ache, it could start with a cough
Now I'm not suggesting that we launch a first strike
We don't know for sure they're endagering our lives
But we mustn't get used to the fact that they're here
Let's keep our eyes open and keep our minds clear

Trapped
03:57
|
|||
Trapped like a rat in a comfortable cage
Afraid to go outside and filled up with rage
Feel like I've been separated from the world I once knew
Cut off from my family and friends and severed from you
It's been a couple of months and I'm sick of living in fear
Those ships in the sky haven't moved since they've been here
Watching and waiting or whatever the hell it is they do
It's not knowing your fate that awaits when they make their move
Not so long ago when people were so wrapped up in themselves
Nobody cared about anything or anybody else
Now we're waiting in darkness just to see if we'll live
Just to see if we'll live another day
Well I finally snapped and I went for a walk
The streets were all dead and the cars had all stopped
And the ships in the sky didn't do a goddamned thing
So I raised up my hands to the sky and I began to scream
Can you hear me? Who do you think you are?
What the hell do you want and what are you waiting for?
If I had any weapons I'd blast you right out of the sky
No more hiding away now it's time that we begin to fight

Why are we just sitting here while they make all their plans?
Sitting ducks do nothing but play right into their hands
We've got to get some weapons and prepare our own attack
Why wait until we're forced to fight them back?
Listen all you people with your heads up in the clouds
They haven't come to help us, they'd have showed us all by now
It's obvious they're waiting for the perfect time to strike
Well I'm not gonna just lay down and die
We won't go down without a fight
We won't go down without a fight
We won't go down without a fight
We won't go down without a fight
Hey, don't be afraid, we're gonna make it, I swear
See, I've got a plan, we're gonna take this, somewhere
Somewhere
Listen all you idiots who think you're safe and sound
The day is coming soon and those machines are coming down
What reason do you have to think that this will go away?
I say we take a stand, we stand today
We won't go down without a fight
We won't go down without a fight
We won't go down without a fight
We won't go down without a fight

PART ONE
As sudden as their arrival,
They vanished without a trace
No pyrotechnics or fanfare
Just one giant empty space
And everyone's asking questions
Like what was the goddamned point
Humanity's left without answers
Our spirits were knocked out of joint
Now I've been doing some thinking
And watching the world return
To some kind of state of normal
And there's something I have learned
While living in fear of the unknown
The world had a common threat
And people who'd fought one another
Were basically forced to forget
And nations had banded together
To map out a plan of attack
For now at least they will remember
They once had each other's back
And what of the visiting objects
Are they coming again some day
Let's hope it doesn't take that lesson
To remind us all how to behave
PART TWO
At the end of the day
Things stay the same
But nothing appears
Completely unchanged
But you didn't expect
Square holes perfectly round
And you didn't expect
Silence making a sound
And you didn't expect
Your whole world crashing down
To test your resolve
When the dust finally clears
There's nothing so dear
Than the life that you live
Without worry and fear
But you didn't expect
Darkness bright as a light
And you didn't expect
Daytime all through the night
And you didn't expect
Giving up all of your rights
To test your resolve
How long will this feeling go on?
Inescapable emptiness from dusk until dawn
Can you find any answers, do you know what went wrong?
What went wrong?
When it's all said and done
You're the fortunate one
Because you survived
This mystery ride
But you didn't expect
Closing your eyes to see
And you didn't expect
Paying for everything free
And you didn't expect
Giving your soul to me
To test your resolve
At the end of the day
Things stay the same
But nothing appears
Completely unchanged
