Track Name: Quantifiable Nothingness
INSTRUMENTAL
Track Name: Ahead Of My Time
I was born too early
Or I was born too late
Either way you consider
I'm being chased by fate
I'm ahead of my time

I can see from the future
Or I can see from the past
Either way you consider
I'm sure it aint gonna last
I'm ahead of my time

I can see the wind blow, I can hear the sun, I can feel the rivers run
I can touch the moonlight, I can hug the stars, I can taste the dust on Mars
I'm ahead of my time
Gonna die in the city
Or in the country at home
Either way you consider
I'm gonna be alone
I'm ahead of my time

I can see the wind blow, I can hear the sun, I can feel the rivers run
I can touch the moonlight, I can hug the stars, I can taste the dust on Mars
I'm ahead of my time
Track Name: Shiv
A padded room just for two,
Conjugal visit, me and you,
When we were done I must have lost my shit,
I told you every bad thing I ever did.
Like my old cell mate,
He was a dick,
Got some girlie magazines and wouldn't share in it,
I had a few things,
I tried to trade,
He wouldn't do it so I found his shoulder blade,
With my shiv.

Then there was Fazio "The Gun",
He was doing life for murder one,
We played some poker in the yard,
I lost my shirt pretty hard,
And so he found me,
In the laundry room,
Said he'd cut my hand off if I didn't pay him soon,
He threw some punches,
I hit the deck,
And when he walked away I introduced his neck,
To my shiv.

It didn't take them long to find out it was me doing all these things,
They threw me in the tank and I was with the dark for an eternity,
But now they look at me so very differently and they won't bother me anymore.

The prison guards leave me alone,
But there was one who didn't know,
He followed me into the shower,
He beat me just to prove his power,
Then on the weekend,
We played the screws,
In a game of baseball and they were about to lose,
I slid to second,
And took him down,
And as it happens he just stayed there on the ground,
With my shiv.

I love my shiv.
Track Name: Troubadour's Song
Black or white, heaven or hell
What do they mean and who can tell?
Happy or sad, jealous or mad
Who is to say which one is bad?

Oh troubadour's song
Oh troubadour's song

Sing about love, sing about hate
Sing us a song, don't make us wait
Make us all feel like we're in love
Make us believe in the above

Oh troubadour's song
Oh troubadour's song

Watching and waiting
Focussed and clear
Hoping for something
Expecting to hear
Truth from the fretboard
Comfort in words
Taking our lead from what we heard
Sing about life, sing about death
Sing us a song, don't don't take a breath
Make us all feel like we're in pain
Make us all feel like we're insane

Oh troubadour's song
Oh troubadour's song

Watching and waiting
Focussed and clear
Hoping for something
Expecting to hear, expecting to hear
Truth from the fretboard
Comfort in words
Taking our lead from what we heard
Track Name: Asshole
Sun is shining, there ain't a cloud in the sky
But all he sees is darkness in front of his eyes
He doesn't pass up the chance to to tell you that you're a cog in the big world machine
He doesn't try to be nice, he's just naturally mean

He goes to work, puts in his hours and goes home
He makes his dinner, and bitches that he's eating alone
But he's been writing this script since he was a young man who could never fit in
He doesn't understand, that it all starts with him

He doesn't want your pity
He doesn't want to be saved
He doesn't want you to love him
You gotta understand that he's an asshole

He hates to read, he doesn't want to learn something new
He likes to talk, and won't aknowledge your point of view
He lives inside his head where everything makes sense and he's smarter than you
He doesn't listen at all, he's immune to the truth

He doesn't want your pity
He doesn't want to be saved
He doesn't want you to love him
You gotta understand that he's an asshole

He's had a hard life, he's been kicked in the teeth
Things havent been easy, in fact they've been pretty bleak
Some people can conquer, and make the best of it all
But he's too stubborn to see the meaning of it all

Another day, another chance to turn it around
But he'll remain on what he thinks is solid ground
He doesn't try to reach out cuz he likes living without instead of living within
He would take you out before he'd let you in

He doesn't want your pity
He doesn't want to be saved
He doesn't want you to love him
You gotta understand..
He doesn't want your opinion
He doesn't want your respect
He doesn't want your forgiveness
You gotta understand that he's an asshole

INSTRUMENTAL
Track Name: Half-Baked
One, two, three, four
Knockin' on your bedroom door
Five, six, seven, wait&ldots;
You're in some kind of altered state
You look like you've been to hell and back
You better let me check your arms for tracks

You must be half-baked, you must be stoned,
You must be higher than a flying kite,
You must be half-baked

Who you hanging 'round?
What you doin' on the town?
Watch out, look about
I might just follow and check it out
If I see something that I don't like
I'll drag you home on a Saturday night

You must be half-baked, you must be stoned,
You must be higher than a flying kite
You must be half-baked

When you were younger we spent time together it's true
I had more time for you
Now that you're older you've grown so much colder and blue
Did I do this to you?
I wish I could go back and take other forks in the road
But that's not how it goes
No, that's not how it goes
That's not how it goes, and now you're out of control.

Stay straight, don't be late
You don't behave, I won't hesitate
To knock you into next week
Don't you sass, don't even speak
As long as you're a resident
You better call me President

You must be half-baked, you must be stoned,
You must be higher than a flying kite,
You must be half-baked
Track Name: Where Do We Go From Here?
I took your picture with my phone,
A candid shot of you sitting all alone,
If you should call me, your face would then appear,

Don't think of me as a creep,
But I would really like to watch you when you sleep,
I want to be with you, every day and night,
Is that alright?

Just your picture is not enough
I need to see you, I need your touch
But I don't know if you feel the same
So I'll keep playing this waiting game.

Heavy hearts don't break at all,
They just crack and take the fall
What you see is what you get
There's nothing you need to fear
The only question left
Is where, where do we go from here?

I wrote a poem just for you
But you won't like it because none of it is true
I said most everything I think you'd like to hear

I wish you'd give me a chance
Perhaps a dinner date then afterwards a dance
I'll be your Mister Right and you can be my muse
How can you lose?

Just your picture is not enough
I need to see you, I need your touch
But I don't know if you feel the same
So I'll keep playing this waiting game.

Heavy hearts don't break at all,
They just crack and take the fall
What you see is what you get
There's nothing you need to fear
The only question left
Is where, where do we go from here?
Track Name: Nice Guys
Why should I be nice? Nobody else is.
Why should I be kind? Nobody else is.
Why should I respect the opposite sex when I aint seen nothin' yet?
I'm not looking for perfection. Nobody else does.

Why should have faith? Nobody else does.
Why should I have to wait? Nobody else does.
Why should I be fine with being resigned while I slowly lose my mind?
I'm not looking for a hand-out. Nobody else does.

Don't be surprised. Sometimes, nice guys don't finish at all.

Why should I be lonely? Nobody else is.
Why should I be phoney? Nobody else is.
Why do you get kissed while I get missed? Am I easy to resist?
I don't think I'm Johnny Good Looks. Nobody else does.

Don't be surprised. Sometimes, nice guys don't finish at all.

I've waited for so long. Nobody else has.
Why can't I be strong? Everyone else is.
Why should I accept my singleness as something for the best?
I'm not asking for a miracle. Nobody else does.
Don't be surprised. Sometimes, nice guys don't finish at all.
Don't be surprised. Sometimes, nice guys don't finish at all.
